Kiwi (Actinidia deliciosa) is a woody vine that bears an edible fruit belonging to the family Actinidiaceae. The plant is indigenous to mainland China and Taiwan but is commercially cultivated in California and New Zealand. The fruit has a mildly acidic taste and can be consumed uncooked or cooked. The juice is sometimes utilized as a meat tenderizer. Raw kiwis are rich in vitamins C and K.
